My Huge week

The past week has been tremendously exciting for me. Let me explain.

Sunday
Mommy and Daddy said it was something called Easter. I'm not sure what that is. I do know several good things happen when it's Easter.

First, I get to meet new people. Lots of 'em. That makes me happy. People are fun. They all seem to like me. I like them - well, most of them. Lots of people go out of their way to make me smile. Easter was no different. Thank you to all of you who did that.

I also got toys on Easter. We've established that a big day for me is when I get a new toy or a new visitor. Just think how mind-blowing it is to have both happen the same day! Amazing. One of my new toys, Mommy and Daddy gave me. He's a frog named Ribbit. He rattles and scrunches and makes froggie noises when Daddy squeezes his tummy. Hooray!!!!

Easter was also the day I wore my Dressed Like Daddy outfit. I know it sounds silly and probably seems silly, too. But Daddy and I like each other a lot. So, we went to Easter and I dressed in one of my first sets of big boy clothes. I know I'm still little. But there was something really cool about the big boy gear.

Easter was great. I'm looking forward to the next one.

The same can't be said for ...

Wednesday
This was the day I had my "second round of shots." If you'll recall (or just scroll down) you'll see that I didn't care to ever have another round of those diabolical things after the first time. Well, Mommy and Daddy made me do it again. This time was a little better than the last. But, as Dr. Couling warned them, I didn't like them any better than I did the first time.

The needle hurt, then there was all the other stuff. Plus, I already had a cold and now I don't feel good at all and I'm sleepy and grouchy. It's a vast conspiracy aimed at bringing Connor down. I won't put up with it, I tell you. There is no way they're getting me to do this again. And I'm not alone in this. After I got my shots, I heard another baby screeching when that evil nurse got him. Babies of the world unite! Together, we will overthrow the needle-wielding nurses!

Mommy said they only have that done because it will help me. Help me? Really? Then why exactly does it hurt? Why exactly do I not feel right after them? Those are questions I'd love to have answered, because right now I'm pretty much at a loss.

Well, this too shall pass. Eventually, life will be back to normal and these stupid shots will stop happening.

Anyway, I need another nap. Talk to you all soon.

The Time, It Is A-Changin'

I don't like this whole "time change" thing. Mommy and Daddy tell me the sun is out later because we had to turn the clock forward. I say Why? Why must this sun mess with my sleep pattern?

I'm a morning person. So, I like to get to sleep earlier because of that. How am I supposed to wake Daddy at 6 a.m. if I go to sleep at 10 p.m.? It's a question I faced early in life and decided to get my sleep whenever I wanted it. I used to go to sleep after something Mommy and Daddy call "The Simpsons." I don't know what that is. They don't let me look at that thingy with the moving colors much. But, this Simpsons must be neat, because they laugh when they watch it.

I'm not really sure what precisely is happening, but my clothes seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Just the other day, Daddy told me we were about to have to "retire" some of my favorite stuff. I don't want to. These are things i've had since I came home with Mommy and Daddy. Why should they be retired?

Daddy says it's called growing and it's something I'm supposed to do. He even goes as far as to say it's a good thing. I have my doubts. My stuff is all getting smaller. Just the other day, Daddy said I'm working my way out of my bouncy seat. I refuse to give it up. I just got big enough to make it bounce without help.

To be honest, it looks like the cold times have stopped. Mommy likes it when it snows. I think I will too. Just something about the warmth I dig, though. Warmth makes me feel good. I'm happy with it.

I know how to hold things now. P-Nut. My friends from the play mat. My rattle. My keys. They're all fair game. It's like a new challenge. I use my hands for a lot of things now. Possibly my favorite is teaching Mommy and Daddy to not wear long sleeves while they change my diaper. I grab everything. Shirts, necklaces, hair (Mommy's long hair on her head, Daddy's chest hair. It's all good.), bibs, burp cloths. You name it.

I've also found I can put almost my entire hand in my mouth. Mommy and Daddy say if I can shove my whole hand in there, I'll win a lot of bar bets some day. I'm not sure what a bar bet is, but Daddy made it seem like it had something to do with college.

I went for a ride in my stroller the other day. It was the first time I'd done that. Soon, I'll show you all a picture. Suffice it to say, I wasn't sure what was going on around me. But, I was acutely aware of the traffic. I really liked watching the cars whiz by. Then there were the puppies we saw. They were really cool and they barked. They weren't as cool as our kitty, but close.

Until next time ...
